About Me
Molding dirt since 1981
Art School Graduate, Sister, Daughter, Teacher, Partner and Mother of Pirates; journeying into the world of ceramics.
My work focuses on functionality and surface design and each piece is created by hand as a-one-of-a-kind. I am enjoying applying myself to something creative and challenging and watching my skills continue to develop. My other talents include: print-maker, worrier, painter, chef, maker, fixer, planner, over-thinker and wildly disillusioned and ineffective dictator.
I am really excited to be teaching a termly Beginners Wheel Workshop and a Youth Workshop at the Nelson Community Potters on Rutherford Street. These classes are promoted through the NCP eventbrite page and further information can be sought from ncpotters@gmail.com.
My partner and I have been working hard on setting up a home studio, complete with kiln, clay processing area and a pair of wheels... so... if you can't commit to a whole term of classes, I offer 1-on-1 wheel throwing tutoring from home; and clay experiences out-and-about in the community for small groups.
Some finished pieces are at the Zappekin Gallery in Tasman, and others are listed for sale on my instagram or just lurking about in my shed. I do make bespoke pieces to order when the universe is in the right alignment and good things take time... so best to allow a couple of months for new builds.
Feel free to make contact if there is anything you have your eye on, your heart set on or would like to check on current stock and we can discuss planning, process, price, payment and shipping.
Thanks for being part of my journey.
